Dr. Bil Buksh, and OKC podiatrist serving patients in northwest Oklahoma City,
Edmond and Norman, OK, recently visited Chicago, IL on two occasions for courses on muscle flaps for limb salvage procedures, wound car, nerve repair and microsurgery for the lower extremities.
These workshops took place at top of the line training facilities at the North American Spine Society and the Rosemont Orthopedic Learning Centers and featured intense, hands-on training and classroom learning.
Flaps are used as a plastic surgery procedure to apply to wounds.
Wounds will benefit from muscle flaps to add vascular flow and to fill in deficit. Later the wound is covered with products to help it heal and skin grafts are then applied to complete the entire process.
The second workshop focused on complex nerve repair and
microsurgery for the lower extremities. Patients who suffer from chronic nerve pain and trauma would benefit from these products and procedures both in the short term and long term.
With advanced and ongoing training in wound care, skin grafting and limb salvage, Dr. Buksh is one of the premier foot and ankle providers serving the greater Oklahoma City area.
